Inter-story drift ratios are closely related to damage in structural and non-structural elements in buildings subjected to earthquakes. Although advanced techniques exist for a reliable estimation of the drifts in a building, this tool is created for a rapid and preliminary assessment of elastic drifts in buildings subjected to elastic Eurocode 8 spectra.
The app is based on the concept of the Generalized Interstorey Drift Spectrum (Miranda, E., and S. D. Akkar. "Generalized interstory drift spectrum." Journal of Structural Engineering 132.6 (2006): 840-852.) with some simplifications proposed by Brisid Isufi.
